Halvor Reiten's Boatyard Beach

Located at the end of Broad Street and Wilson Avenue in downtown Bayfield, Reiten's Boatyard Beach is an easy stop while exploring the city. Its convenient location near local shops and restaurants, along with a picnic area and swimming access, makes it a popular place to relax along the Lake Superior shoreline.

Washington Avenue Beach

Situated beside the Madeline Island Ferry terminal, Washington Avenue Beach is a great place to enjoy the waterfront while watching ferries arrive and depart throughout the day. Visitors can also often see kayakers preparing for trips to the Apostle Islands before launching onto Lake Superior.

Friendly Valley Beach

Friendly Valley Beach is located along Highway 13 between Bayfield and Washburn. This sandy Lake Superior beach offers open shoreline, scenic views of Madeline Island and Long Island, and a peaceful setting for spending time by the water.

Bayview Beach

Found between Bayfield and Washburn along Highway 13, Bayview Beach features a sandy shoreline with a picnic area and a covered pavilion available for reservations. It is a welcoming destination for relaxing, gathering with family, or enjoying a day beside Lake Superior.

Beaches on Madeline Island

Big Bay State Park

Located on Madeline Island, Big Bay State Park features a mile-and-a-half of sandy Lake Superior shoreline along with picnic areas, a campground, and more than seven miles of hiking trails, boardwalks, and nature paths that showcase the island's natural beauty.

Big Bay Town Park

Big Bay Town Park offers direct access to the Lake Superior shoreline through a beach boardwalk extending nearly 900 feet. Visitors will also find a comfort station with free WiFi, drinking water, pay showers, flush toilets, and a campground with both electric and remote tent campsites.

Along The South Shore

Meyers Beach

Located about five miles east of Cornucopia on Highway 13, Meyers Beach serves as a primary access point to the mainland sea caves. Visitors can relax along the shoreline or hike the Lakeshore Trail for elevated views overlooking the famous sandstone formations.

Cornucopia Beach

In the center of the village of Cornucopia, this Lake Superior beach offers beautiful views across Siskiwit Bay. The beach is within walking distance of local businesses and includes a picnic area, playground, and a natural artesian well for visitors to enjoy.

Harbor Park

Harbor Park in Port Wing features a sandy beach with wide views across Lake Superior and the Port Wing Harbor. It is a pleasant place to enjoy the shoreline, take in the scenery, or spend time relaxing along Wisconsin's South Shore.
