What To Know Before Your Stay

  • What is your cancellation policy?

    If a reservation is cancelled:

      

    Cancellations (must be provided in writing to aiacancelmystay@gmail.com)


    Campsite Reservations:

    (Per site for multiple site reservations)


    31+ days before arrival -Refund minus $30 cancellation fee + processing fee

    15–30 days before arrival -Refund minus first night of reservation + processing fee

    8–14 days before arrival -Refund minus 50% of reservation + processing fee

    7 days or less before arrival -No refund


    Cabin Reservations:

    (Per cabin for multiple cabin reservations)


    61+ days before arrival -Refund minus $50 cancellation fee

    31–60 days before arrival -Refund minus first night of reservation

    30 days or less before arrival -No refund


    Travel Protection:

    -Travel protection is non-refundable and managed by a third-party provider

    (please use the link in your confirmation email to file a claim).


    Please note, processing fees are non-refundable on all reservations


    EVENTS BEYOND OUR CONTROL

    Apostle Islands Area Campground is unable to provide refunds, credits, adjustments, OR moving of reservation dates for circumstances beyond our reasonable control that affect your travel plans, stay, or enjoyment of your visit.


    These events may include, but are not limited to:

    *Inclement or severe weather

    *Wildfire smoke, wildfires, or air quality conditions

    *Natural disasters (including floods, tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, and other similar events)

    *Acts of God

    *Government orders, travel restrictions, or emergency declarations

    *Public health emergencies, pandemics, epidemics, or infectious disease outbreaks

    *Acts of war, terrorism, civil unrest, or military actions

    *Utility interruptions (including power, water, internet, or telecommunications) caused by third parties or emergency events

    *Road closures, bridge closures, construction delays, or transportation disruptions

    *Mandatory evacuations or emergency response actions

    *Fire bans or restrictions imposed by governmental agencies

    *Mechanical failures or transportation issues affecting your ability to travel

    *Any other event or circumstance beyond the reasonable control of Apostle Islands Area Campground.

    *Because campsites and cabins are reserved exclusively for each guest, these events do not entitle guests to a refund, credit, or modification of our standard cancellation policy.

    We strongly encourage all guests to purchase travel insurance if there is any concern that unforeseen events could impact their trip.


    RESERVATION CHANGES & SHORTENED STAYS:


    Removing nights from a reservation is considered a partial cancellation.  

    Must be provided in writing to aiacamping@gmail.com.


    Campsite removal of nights: (Per site for multiple site reservations)


    31+ days before arrival - 75% refund of the nightly rate OR a $25 modification fee per change (whichever is greater).


    8-30 days before arrival - 50% refund of the nightly rate.


    7 days or less before arrival - No refund


    *Removing multiple nights that results in a stay shorter than originally booked may require relocation to a different site if availability requires.


    Cabin removal of nights: (Per cabin for multiple cabin reservations)



    61+ days before arrival - 75% refund of nightly rate


    31-60 days before arrival - 50% refund of nightly rate


    30 days or less before arrival - No refund

    Modification Fee:

    -All reservation changes are subject to a $25 administrative fee.



  • Can I cancel my reservation online?

    All cancellations must be made in writing via email (aiacancelmystay@gmail.com).

  • What if I do not arrive on my first day of my reservation?

    If you are not able to make the first day(s) of your reservation, please notify our office.  If we are not notified, your reservation will be forfeited and will become available to other guests.

  • Is the site length listed (on the website) for the camper/ RV length only?

    It is the camper/ RV length only.  Each site will also accommodate a vehicle.  Large trucks may need to park in designated parking areas if they do not fit at the site.

  • What are your quiet hours?

    10:00 pm- 7:00 am


    We are a quiet campground and strictly enforce our quiet hours.  We want everyone to enjoy their stay, so please be courteous to your fellow neighbors!

  • Do you have Wi-Fi?

    Yes, we do have Wi-Fi in both sides of our park.  We have upgraded sites 1-58 in 2024 for increased coverage for our guests.  Signal strength may vary in certain areas.

  • When is your campground open?

    Our campground is open Memorial weekend to the 1st full weekend in October.

  • When is check-in and check-out?

    Campsites:

    Check-in starts at 1:00 pm and check-out is at 11:00 am


    Cabins:

    Check-in starts at 3:00 pm and check-out is at 10:00 am

  • Do you allow pets while tenting or in your rentals?

    Unfortunately, we do not allow pets while tenting or in any of our rental cabins/units. We are pet-friendly and pets are allowed in hard-sided campers/RVs.  Please see our pet policy for more information.

  • Do you have firewood?

    Yes, we have bundles of firewood for sale.  We do not allow carry-in firewood.  We love our beautiful trees and do not want harmful insects brought in.  Thank you for understanding.

  • If we are full-time RV'ers, can we forward mail here?

    Yes, we are happy to offer this service.  Please send mail/packages to:

  • Is your campground on the water?

    No, we are not on the water.  However, we have a swimming pond with a beautiful beach!  Also, we are 1 mile south of public beaches and a public boat launch.  There are many beautiful beaches very close to our campground. In addition, The Bayfield Recreational Center offers swimming and fitness services for a daily guest fee.

  • Do you have showers and flush toilets?

    Yes, we have very clean bathroom and shower facilities free to our guests.

  • Do you accept credit cards?

    Yes, with the exception of American Express.

  • Do you have groceries?

    We carry some essential grocery items in our camp store, along with souvenirs and gifts!

  • Can the Apostle Islands be seen from the campground?

    From some sites, the islands are visible. Sites 49,50,53,54,55 have some views, but trees are growing fast! Sites 60,61,63,85,94 also have views of Long Island and parts of Lake Superior. Most of our sites are in nice wooded or partially wooded areas that do not have a view of the islands but offer a very quiet and peaceful setting.

  • How far are you from Bayfield?

    1 mile south of Bayfield.

  • Do you have laundry?

    Yes! Laundry facilities are located at each of our shower houses.

  • Do you have entertainment at the campground?

    We are mainly a tourist campground. However, we do have a beautiful swim pond, mini golf, playground for small children, a gaga ball pit and a volleyball net. Most of our guests come and stay with us and enjoy all Bayfield and the Apostle Islands have to offer.   • Does the Big Top shuttle stop here?

  • Are your site's level?

    We work very hard to try and keep our sites nice and level.

  • Can you accommodate large Motorhomes?

    Yes, we can accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheels up to 45' in length.  Additional trailers need to be pre approved to ensure adequate parking space is available.

  • Do you have 50 amp sites?

    Yes, we currently have (66) 50 amp sites.

  • Is there Uber or a shuttle?

    Currently, we do not have Uber available. However, we recommend using Bay Area Rural Transit (BART).  They will pick you up from the camp store parking lot (you call and schedule a pick up and drop off time). Transportation Options for Guests

Whether you are visiting Bayfield attractions, heading into town, or planning activities without a vehicle, knowing available transit options can make your trip easier and more flexible while staying at our campground.
